As we all know, our beautiful lakes are one of our most precious natural resources. It is essential that we all play our part in preserving and protecting them for future generations to enjoy. With this in mind, I would like to invite you to join us in a special initiative aimed at keeping our lakes clean and free from pollution.

"Keeping our lakes clean, means..... FRIENDS DON'T LET THEIR FRIENDS...DIVE JUNK! This simple slogan serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of responsible waste management and environmental stewardship. By working together and being mindful of our actions, we can make a real difference in ensuring that our lakes remain pristine and healthy for years to come.

At West Bay Marina and Lakeview Marina we are proud to stock the mesh bags noted in the photo above.  You can tie these to your floatie or floating cooler and your friends and companions can put their bottles/cans in the bag vs. sinking them to the bottom of our beaufiful lake.

This past Saturday, September 12th, volunteer divers with Asubadiving of Azle along with Save Eagle Mountain Lake, West Bay Marina and Lakeview Marina did their annual clean-up of the lake bottom in Party Cove.  This year they picked up several barrels of trash, dozens of bags of bottles/cans and even a transmission.  Last year was about the same amount...maybe a little less than this year.  In September 2024 volunteer divers picked up over eight 55 gallon drums of bottles and cans off the bottom of the lake, along with sunglasses, fishing poles, tool boxes, etc.  In 2023 it was about six 55 gallon barrels full..... AND THAT WAS JUST A LIMITED AREA OF PARTY COVE.  

THOSE BOTTLES AND CANS DID NOT GET ON THE BOTTOM OF THE LAKE BY ACCIDENT.  SOMEONE'S FRIEND OR FRIENDS DID IT....    LET'S ALL HELP PUT AN END TO THIS NEEDLESS LITTERING........PLEASE!
